  • General Summary

    Under the direction of supervisor, performs duties as related to application administration for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and other firm applications.

    Essential Duties

    • Duties include management of the SCCM environment, including management of imaging, application packaging and deployment. Also responsible for disaster recovery documentation and testing.
    • Also includes management of other business related applications.
    • Manage the implementation of upgrades and new applications to the production environment for business applications.
    • Assist the Application Support team in proving timely, accurate resolutions for any issues in a courteous, professional manner.
    • Provide after-hours technical support and coverage when needed.
    • Participate in the management of the SCCM environment.
    • Participate in the management of other business related applications.
    • Participate in the creation of firm images for multiple workstation types.
    • Create software installation packages for deployment to workstations.
    • Proactively research new technologies and advise on their use.
    • Assist with the creation of test plans and testing of applications and third party software implementations.
    • Manage projects from identifying requirements to performing rollout.
    • Assist with the development of training curriculum and documentation for new applications.
    • Work with other IT teams to troubleshoot and build application infrastructure.
    • Integrate applications with third party tools when needed.
    • Assist in the rollout of third party tools.
    • Assist in the resolution of support issues.
    • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation for applications assigned.
    • Assist in technical learning and development of other team members as needed.
    • Attend meetings with users and colleagues as required.
    • Review publications and attend seminars, conferences as assigned and relating to technologies used in by Alston & Bird.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Skills Needed to be Successful

    • Must have strong problem solving skills, as well as expertise in scripting languages such as Microsoft PowerShell.
    • Must have expert knowledge of SCCM as well as other Microsoft technologies, networking and server management.
    • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Must have the ability to work independently.
    • Strong attention to detail is essential as well as a demonstrated ability to work under pressure and be able to multitask.
    • Must have proven leadership ability.
    • Must possess specific technical skills required for the project that exceed the abilities of the rest of the development team.
    • Must have at least 5-10 years of solid professional experience in application support.
    • Four year degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Computer Science, Computer engineering or related technical area, preferred, but not required.
    • Equivalent work experience/education will be taken into consideration.
